06 All Stars - Trophy Party

Well this finally marks the end of our All Star team for 2006. What a run the kids had! The party was a great time to reflect on the season, and not a single player or parent missed it... everyone was there. It was also nice to see the President of the league there to congratulate everyone on some very fine Baseball. Great season guys... see you all next year!

06 All Stars - Game 7 (Sectionals)

Saturday, July 15, 2006    5:00PM
1 2 3 4 5 6 R H E
Ft. Pierce 3 1 2 0 0 0 6 8 1
Sat Beach 0 0 0 2 0 1 3 8 0

Unfortunately our All Stars winning streak came to an end this evening. After going 6-0 in the previous tournament games this single loss has ended the Post Season play for us.

The kids played their hearts out in the 6 previous games, that, and the oppresive heat today definately played a roll. I don't think they had much left to give.

Ft. Pierce got up early in the first inning scoring 3 runs. 1 more in the 2nd and 2 in the 3rd seemingly put the game out of reach. Satellite was not about to give up however, staging a rally in the 4th and scoring 2 runs on hits by Joey, Nick and Spencer.

Zack held the Ft. Pierce potent offense at bay for 1 more inning, setting Satellite up for one final chance at a comeback in the bottom of the 6th inning. Nick continued his hitting streak with a lead-off single, and scored on an RBI by Christopher. Spencer scored on a steal home, but was called out on a controversial call. That was it for Satellite.

Congratulations on some fantastic Post Season Play!

06 All Stars - Sectionals

Ok, I was very curious to find out who we'd be playing this weekend in the Sectionals, and since no one at District seemed to know I did some investigating (thank you Google). Bear in mind this is IN NO WAY official.

According to UNPAGE Publications it looks like past tournaments for District 2 have been against District 7 and District 17. These sites show their 9-10 All Star Champions as being Lantana and the winner of Fort Pierce American vs.Martin County North who are playing this evening.

That's the scoop!

06 All Stars - Player Contributions

The stats are a wonderful thing! It's easy to see just how important every players contributions are to the team.

Here are some noteable examples: Kevin hitting .571 with an On Base Averate of .786. Spencer hitting .556 with 4 stolen bases. Joey with an On Base Average of .600 and 4 stolen bases. Christian with a 5 game hitting streak and 3 RBI's. Bradley with an On Base Average of .500 and 4 stolen bases. Lance with 7 RBI's. Nick with 3 RBI's (one being a game winning one), and 6 walks. Danny with an On Base Average of .462 and pitching a complete game shut-out in 5 1/2 innings. Morgan with 3 RBI's and pitching against 52 batters, giving up only one Earned Run. Isaac with a .500 Average with Runners in Scoring Position. Christopher with a hit and Zack with 6 walks.

And these stats don't even take into account EVERYONE's phenomenal defensive play! Great job guys, and congratulations once again.
