Playing for the chance to move on today in the County Tournament, the Seminoles needed to win or they were out.

The score was 0-0 against the Viera Yankees going into the 3rd inning. With the bases loaded the Seminoles scored Nicholas Hamor when Eric Wright was hit by a pitch. Danny Dolnik then scored on a wild pitch, to leave Cristian Seguna and Eric Wright on 2nd and 3rd. Ryan Lewis then hit a shot to the outfield scoring Seguna and Wright to put the Seminoles up 4-0.

The Seminoles scored again in the top of the 6th on a double by Lance Comer. Going into the bottom of the 6th with the score now 5-3 the Yankee's were threatening with 1 out and a runner on 1st.

The Seminoles were looking for a chance to turn a double and put the game away, and that's exactly what they got when the batter hit a hard ground ball to Wright who fielded it at short stop. Hamor then took the throw at 2nd for the force and fired it to Lewis at first for the double. The Seminoles had won the game and advanced to the playoffs!

The Seminoles were able to squeek out a win in their second game of Round 2 this morning, beating Eau Gallie 3-2. This will most likely allow the Seminoles to move to round 3, pending the outcome of a game Monday between Eau Gallie and the Viera Athletics.

Lance Comer contributed a triple for the Seminoles, with Christian Seguna, Gary DiGiacamo, Ryan Lewis, and Danny Dolnik all contributing singles.

The game was close and came down to the 6th inning with the Seminoles clinging to a 2 run lead. Eau Gallie opened the inning with a double from their first batter. After getting a strike out and a fly ball on the next two batters the Seminoles were ready to put it away.

Eau Gallie however was not ready to give up just yet. With 2 outs and a runner on second the next batter singled with a long fly ball to left field. Eau Gallie now had the tieing run on first. On his 3rd pitch the next Eau Gallie batter hit a shot over the short stops head, scoring one and putting another runner on 3rd.

But paying close attention and making a great play were the Seminoles short stop Eric Wright and 3rd baseman Danny Dolnik. Wright who was the cut off for the throw from left fielder Brian Fallace saw that the Eau Gallier runner had rounded 3rd and was off the base, a heads up throw to Dolnik who was covering the bag, allowed for a tag on the runner, and accounted for the last out of the inning, sealing the win for the Seminoles.

The game was just about out of hand the whole time, up until the 6th inning when the Seminoles made a 3 run rally to try make a game of it. Unfortunately they came up a few runs short. All the kids played well though and hung in there until the end.

Christian Seguna had 3 singles, with Nicholas Hamor, Gary DiGiacamo, Ryan Lewis, Brian Fallace and Eric Wright all contributing one each. DiGiacamo also had a double in the game.
