With this afternoons loss to the Viera Royals the Brewers County Tournament play comes to an end. Only the 2 top teams move on, and with a record of 1 and 2, the Brewers do not qualify.

Today's game was probably the best play the Brewers have exhibited all season. Playing against the second place Viera Royals, and by all accounts out-matched in every aspect of the game, the Brewers were none the less able to maintain the lead for 4 of the 6 innings. However the Royals continued to score runs in the 5th and 6th that the Brewers were unable to match, and the game ended with the home team down 8-14.

Andrew Medeiros got the start on the mound and pitched an amazing game on an incredibly hot day. The opposing teams coaches even made a point of how well he pitched. Medeiros threw for 5 1/3 innings to 30 batters giving up 12 hits and 8 earned runs. Danny Dolnik closed out the game pitching 2/3 inning and giving up 1 earned run.

The Brewers were just about able to match Viera's 14 hits with 12 of their own. Contributing to the Brewers tally of hits were Dolnik with 2, Zak Wilson 2, Medeiros 3, PJ Reynolds 2, Nicholas Hamor 2 and Jesse Pitman 1.
